Nestlé Vietnam reaffirms its long-term commitment to Vietnam with additional $75 million investment
Vietnam remains a top foreign direct investment (FDI) destination for multinational corporations amidst the global economic uncertainty. The country has lured $25 billion in FDI disbursed in 2024, an increase of 9 per cent on-year. This trend continues into 2025, with registered FDI reaching $11 billion in the first quarter of 2025, marking a 34.7 per cent year-over-year increase. Investors are taking heed of Vietnam’s strong fundamentals, including a fast-growing economy, a large population, a rising middle class, and an increasing disposable income.
Multinational corporations are committed to long-term investment in Vietnam as the country is opening up new opportunities in the “era of the nation's rise”. This era is defined by rapid and sustainable economic development to strengthen Vietnam’s economic power and capacity. To facilitate the goal, Vietnam gives top priority to green and sustainable investments to create long-lasting value for the economy in the long run. This will help the country meet rising sustainability requirements in major markets like the United States and EU.
As a European multinational food and beverage company, Nestlé has pioneered sustainable development in association with business development in Vietnam. Since its inception in 1995, the company has laid the foundation for a sustainable business, which contributes to the thriving community and prospering country. This is reflected in the company’s efforts to create nutritious products to improve the life quality of Vietnamese, raise the value of Vietnamese coffee beans, and protect and regenerate resources for the future generation.
At a ceremony to mark the 30th anniversary of Nestlé Vietnam held in Dong Nai province on April 18, Nestlé announced an additional investment of nearly VND1.9 trillion (approximately $75 million) to expand and introduce new technologies at its Nestlé Tri An factory. The move serves as a testament to Nestlé’s commitment to sustainable development and green growth for the sake of Vietnamese and its nation.
The Tri An factory is one of Nestlé's most advanced coffee processing plants worldwide, supplying coffee products to more than 29 countries and territories. It is the only Nestlé factory to produce its complete coffee portfolio including Nescafé, Nescafé Dolce Gusto, Nespresso, Blue Bottle, and Starbucks. The plant is also the largest producer of decaffeinated products for Nestlé globally.
